UNREAL ENGINE

ARTIST

Virtual Production, it’s a thing…

Over the past 5 years, I have followed virtual production’s emerging development closely and developed my operating skills in tandem.

The real-time response and the versatility of Unreal Engine to adjust all the different components of a 3D scene to fit the creative is quite mind-blowing. As an operator, I can therefore effectively make changes live in the room or over a call to scenes, animation, and lighting to capture the vision of the creative as closely as required.

I have operated live with renowned directors George Miller and Jonathon Hensleigh and with VFX supervisors Andrew Jackson, David Nelson, and Chris Godfrey.

My experience using the Engine covers pre-vis, post-vis, VR scouting and experiences, LED wall productions (ICVFX) creating environments for live camera tracking with actors, and sim-trav 360s (simulated travel backgrounds for vehicles).

I worked on the post-vis for Mad Max ‘Furiosa’. Pre-vis for ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ and ‘Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky’ as well as providing environments for the virtual production live shoot, which was shot at Nant Studios Melbourne.

My short film ‘Black Wing’ was also selected by Epic Games and Screen NSW as part of the Unreal ANZ challenge in the summer of 2022. I wrote and directed the film and led the team as the key Unreal Engine artist. The film toured festivals internationally and won a Silver AEAF award and Best Animation at the Byron Bay International Film Festival.

I have a high-end Unreal setup but am also happy to travel and provide operating services at studios or in production offices for TV, Film and Commercial work. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have a project you think I could collaborate with.
