If a picture is worth a thousand words…

this ones only really worth a few

Pictured above are ‘The Concrete Cows’ a famous landmark from my birthplace of Milton Keynes. MK is a small town in Buckinghamshire England that was built in the 1960s and designed to be the city of the future. In the early 2000s, the infamous bovine landmark was grafitied by some witty delinquents. Perhaps it’s the perfect metaphor for the city and the type of creativity that bubbled through.

I don’t live in Milton Keynes anymore but I still like the photo and its ambition of being the city of the future, complete with its very own Monorail (which never got made). It still inspires me… well sort of. I now live in Sydney Australia, a place that did once have a monorail (but not anymore).

But you are probably here for my shorts films, ads or music videos… maybe you heard something about my work in Unreal Engine…?

As a director, I like to think I value craft and good design very highly, a lot of my work combines post and practical effects with cinematic storytelling. There’s often humour but it’s not necassarily on purpose, it sneaks in when I’m not looking from time to time. I am also a passionate about photography and image capture in many forms.

As a VFX artist I specialise in Unreal Engine and have worked on the post-vis for Mad Max ‘Furiosa’. Pre-vis for ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ and ‘Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky’ as well as providing environments for the virtual production live shoot, which was shot at Nant Studios Melbourne. My short film ‘Black Wing’ I wrote and directed toured festivals internationally and won a Silver AEAF award and Best Animation at the Byron Bay International Film Festival.

So enjoy watching and thanks for visiting, perhaps we are working on a job together or you are just checking whether you like the cut of my jib.

Either way, get in touch below.

Cheers Tim
